Sales and marketing account manager needed

We’re writing specialists. We create great copy and content for brands and business. We write websites, ads, emails, posters, brochures and more. We also train people to write more effectively, creatively, and persuasively. 

 

In short, we use words to get results.  

Now we’re looking for someone who can help us sell our story.

We need an articulate account manager who can develop our database of contacts and win new business. Along the way you’ll build relationships with our existing clients and play an active role in shaping the company. 

 

As well as  a wide variety of copy, brand propositions, and tone of voice programmes, you’ll also be selling our popular Sharper Copywriting and business writing workshops.  

You’re good, but our training will make you better. 

Because we know it takes time to be able to sell what we do, we’re prepared to invest heavily in the right person. You’ll receive support and training from our client relations manager and creative director. Our team of skilled writers will help you create engaging content to develop your leads.  

In a few months you’ll develop the tools you need to find your rhythm and build a pipeline. And make us hugely grateful that we hired you. 

What will you do? 

  • Prospect for and convert clients who have a real need for better content and copy.  

  • Manage relationships with our existing clients and persuade them to invest in more writing and training. 

  • Manage and track our social media content 

  • Plan and execute email nurture journeys 

  • Promote our quarterly taster sessions to generate leads 

  • Spend some of your time organising workshops and office admin. 

 

What sort of person are we looking for?  

You will be confident and outgoing, able to communicate clearly. You will 

ideally have a couple of years’ experience in a sales or marketing role. You need to be able to write well – we’re not expecting you to be a copywriter, but you need an eye for wrods (and typos). 

 

To market ourselves and arrange our training, we use a variety of cloud-based apps and a comprehensive CRM system, so previous experience of updating and maintaining client records is essential. 

 

To provide a consistently high standard of service, we have some slick processes in place, it’s important you work in an organised way and keep the team updated.  

 

We’re a small, friendly team so you’ll be a self-starter, able to make decisions by yourself. And get along with people – there’s no place to hide! 

 

You’ll also be expected to network in the real world not just the cyber one. Some of this will be with businesses, and some with creative agencies – which is always fun.

Your salary will depend on experience, but we also want to reward success and will include a bonus scheme within your pay deal.

£22-26k dependent on experience,

plus £5k performance bonus each year
