Beyond Autism

Beyond Autism helps autistic children lead fuller lives. Their approach allows children with severe difficulties to make sense of a confusing world. We were delighted to write copy that broadcast their great work to an unwitting world. One of the parents at the school is a documentary filmmaker and we were lucky enough to work with him on a script for a film that was screened at the Royal Society.

The challenge

With small budgets, it's crucial Beyond Autism make every word count. Projects depend on funding, and funding depends on using the right words to tell people their story. The pressure was on...

What we did

Web content

We captured the Beyond Autism story with a positioning statement for their website.

Brochure

We also created a fundraising brochure with an evocative cover line they were able to use across other media.

Speech

We wrote a speech for the CEO of Beyond Autism to use to introduce Stephen Hawking at a gala evening at the Royal Society.

We scripted a video to be screened before Professor Hawking's speech and was used at future fundraising events.

Script

Before

In future P will be supported to learn to carry out an increasing range of tasks for daily living with less support to enable him to have greater independence and be able to access the local community. He will continue to be taught to use PECS so that he can communicate with others and have his voice heard. Continued work will be done in order to support him to be more aware of risk when at school and in the community in order to ensure he can respond when directed to keep him safe.
