Privacy policy

As part of our day-to-day business, we may hold some information about you.

The information we store is related to your level of involvement with our company. For example, if we recently came across your company and think you might benefit from talking to us, we will only have publicly available information. Whereas if we’ve worked together on multiple projects, we will have more comprehensive notes.

Recording our conversations

If we interview you for your input and expertise, we may record it. By recording interviews, we're able to fully engage in the conversation without pausing to take notes. These recordings are not shared outside of our business, unless at your request.

Interviews usually take place on Microsoft Teams, and this software will notify you that you're being recorded when you join the call. Recordings are securely saved from Microsoft Teams to our business OneDrive and then deleted after 90 days.

The information we hold about you could include:

  • Your name

  • Your job title

  • Your organisation’s name

  • Your work telephone number (either the generic office number or your direct line or your work mobile)

  • Your work address

  • Your work email address (or very occasionally, your personal email address if you’ve used that to contact us in the past)

  • Our own notes from conversations you’ve had with us, which could include:

    • a record of communications about previous projects we’ve worked on with you

    • details about your responsibilities within your organisation

    • your previous roles or place of work (if our relationship started before you began in your current position)

    • comments you might have made that would help us understand your needs better in future

Where we initially get your information

There are a few ways we may have gathered your details:

  • You signed up to our email newsletter

  • You approached us about a writing project

  • We noticed you were at an event relevant to our work

  • A colleague or contact of yours recommended we get in touch with you

  • We have worked with organisations similar to yours and thought you could benefit from hearing about our work

What we do with your information

We store these details on either our CRM system, Freshsales, or our email marketing system, Mailchimp. Your name and email address may also be saved as a contact in our G Suite Gmail accounts.

We use this information to contact you now and then. This will most likely be the occasional marketing email featuring copywriting advice or details of upcoming workshops.

We may also get in touch by email or phone if you’ve shown an interest in our services or if you have a project coming up that we could help with.

Our promise to you

We will never sell your details

We will not pass on your information to third parties unless you ask us to

Unless we are contacting you for a specific reason, we will only ever try to provide advice or recommendations we think you’ll find useful

If you no longer wish to hear from us, you can tell us at any time – either through the unsubscribe link in our emails, by contacting us directly at:

Or by replying to the team member who contacted you.

If you want to know what information we hold on you, you can also email hello@athousandmonkeys.co.uk to ask for a record.
